(*) Physcians = Special Forces

Today, I have learned another fact
Physician = Special Forces
We volunteer ourselves for the job
Trained to function under extreme exhaustion
Trained through negative reinforcements
See lots of trauma and death
Patients die right under our hands
Sweep all under a proverbial rug…

Viewed as Clergy, yet not trained
Regardless of age, expected to walk another from earth to life after
Expected to guide patients and families to help them die more peacefully and humane.

Things we experience may appear on the nightly news
But, no one would ever truly understand
We compartmentalize.

As I listen to ‘regular’ people.
Express mystery with the process of illness
Do not understand: Process, diagnosis, treatment, death, ‘cure’
Pray for miraculous healing and removal of cancer.

Though I cannot ignore the mystery and the wonders
Most concerns of the ‘regular’ people have become second nature to me
I understand, as I deal with these things on a weekly bases.
Despite my age, I have seen a lot more than they’ve experienced.

Suddenly, a flood light blasted on
I realized that we live in 2 different universes.
As a physician, I am privileged to much more…
I have understanding to things other attribute as mysteries.
How do I reconcile the 2 worlds?
After all, these ‘regular’ people are my ‘patients’.

This reminds me:
1. Be present and emotionally available in the middle of their sufferings.
2. Treat the whole family as one, not just focus on the patient.
3. Identify and address their basic concerns and do not try to change them.
4. Numbers and statistics and figures are not helpful.  Delaying death is not our responsibility.
5. People want to know the big picture and if their loved ones will be comfortable and have good quality of life.
6. Take joy in all circumstances… it is possible even in the deepest of sadness.
7. Pray. This is the only language to communicate the mysteries

(*) Did you know that the Egyptian Ruler Im-hotep is actually the Biblical Joseph?

THIS IS AMAZING... ARCHEOLOGY IS SO FASCINATING!

Egyptian Ruler/god Imhotep = Biblical Joseph

1.      WHO?

a.      Imhotep = Im-Hotep = “The voice of IM”, IM = I AM; in Exodus 3:14, God said His name is “I AM THAT I AM.”   Li-em-hotep means “the one who comes in peace, is with peace”.  The pharaoh gave Joseph a name: Zaphenath-paneah = “The God lives, the God speaks.”

2.      WHEN?

a.      He served pharaoh Djoser during Egypt’s 3rd Dynasty as the chancellor to the Pharaoh and high priest of the sun god Ra at Heliopolis.

                                                    i.     Biblical accounts: Genesis 41:40-44, “You will be over my house, and all my people will obey your commands.  Only with regard to the throne will I be greater than you.  Pharaoh gave Joseph his signet ring.  Joseph rides in his (pharaoh) second chariot.  I am Pharaoh, but without your permission no one will be able to raise his hand or foot in all the lands of Egypt.  Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-paneah and gave him a wife, Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest at On.”  On is Heliopolis.  Priest was more properly translated as Prince.

b.      Biblical chronology dates the flood occurred about 2348 B.C. Abraham left Haran in about 1921 B.C., 427 years later. Soon after this (we don't know exactly how soon) he and Sarah went to Egypt because of a famine in Canaan. Egypt at this time was already a rich nation, for it was at this time that Abraham became rich in cattle, gold and silver, given to him as payment for Sarah. (Gen. 13:1,2). And there is good evidence that it was at this time that the regulation prohibiting the Egyptians from eating, drinking or fraternizing with foreign shepherds was instituted. (Gen. 46:34)  Josephus relates that Abraham was responsible for bringing the knowledge during the early part of the First Dynasty, about 1915 BC.  It would be about 200 years later when Joseph would be elevated to his high position in Egypt, second only to the pharaoh. During this same time of the 3rd Dynasty, there appears on the scene a most incredible individual in the ancient records- a man called Imhotep.

3.      EVIDENCE OF IMHOTEP’S EXISTENCE AS A REAL PERSON AND CONNECTION TO JOSEPH:

a.      The first evidence connecting Imhotep to Joseph, date him to the time of the 7 year famine, during the reign of pharaoh Djoser.  This rock was found by Charles Wilbour, in 1890, on the Island of Sihiel, at the first cataract of the Nile river, by the rapids of Aswan.  These were inscriptions made 1000 years after the reign of Djoser, claimed to be a copy of a document made by pharaoh Djoser during the 18th year of his reign, of how Imhotep saved his country from the 7 year famine.  Imhotep helped with 7 years of famine and 7 year of plenty.  It said that Imhotep “wanted to consult his God, because the answer is not within him.”  The document called Imhotep “son of Ptah”, Ptah is the ‘creator’ who created everything, including other gods.  The same inscription spoke about pharaoh’s dream that were later interpreted by Imhotep as 7 years of plenty and 7 years of famine.  It also talked about the taxes levied by Egypt on its citizens, except priests, to help with the preparation.   These accounts mirror Genesis 47:26 account of Joseph.

b.      In 1926, fragments of a statue of Pharaoh Djoser were excavated at the step-pyramid of Saqqara. At the base was an inscription of Djoser and "Imhotep, Chancellor of the King of Lower Egypt, Chief under the King, Administrator of the Great Palace, Hereditary Lord, High Priest of Heliopolis, Imhotep the Builder, the Sculptor, the Maker of Stone Vases..."  Here is the inscription and the box is the name “Imhotep.”

4.      ATTRIBUTIONS:

a.      Manetho, Egyptian historian lived in 3rd century BC, credited Imhotep for inventing stone dressing during Djoser’s reign.  “…during his (Djoser) reign lived Imouthes (Imhotep), who, because of his medical skills have the reputation of Asclepius (the god of medicine) among the Egyptians and who was inventor of the art of hewn stone.”  Imhotep became the God of healing.  Was considered as the first architect, engineer, and physician in Egypt

b.      Inscriptions at the pyramid of King’s tomb said Imhotep was filled with wisdom and lived 110 years.  Genesis 56:26 “Joseph died at 110 years old.”

c.      There was no mention of Imhotep in Djoser’s earlier reign.  The tomb of Djoser at Bief Khallaf, which was started short after the start of his reign, was not designed by Imhotep, and had no mention of Imhotep.  Here were inscriptions on clay jars of list of Djoser’s family and officials under his reign, but Imhotep’s name was not on there.  So, that means he had not been appointed.  Other documents mentioned that Imhotep was a self made man, not part of the royal family.

d.      Imhotep was the “Priest of Heliopolis” the Biblical temple of ‘On.’  Genesis 41:45 says that the Pharaoh gave Joseph Asenath, the daughter of the priest of On.  The original text said “Prince of On” not priest of On.

5.      IMHOTEP’S ARCHITECTURAL WONDERS:

a.      Joseph’s canal: El Fayoum, the Venice of Egypt, in the Fayoum Oasis, still named “Bar Yousef.”  It made this valley fertile for the 7 years of plenty to prepared grain stored.

b.      Imhotep first used stone to make pyramids instead of mud brick.  And he constructed the step-pyramids and dressed it in smooth lime stones.

c.      It was in the reign of Djoser, Egypt because truly a great nation, by management of the grains during the famine.  There are remnants of huge grain pits.

d.      The Saqqara complex.  A wall surrounds it.  13 false doors and one real.  40 pillars shaped in as corn cobs supported this wall.  Each column connected to the main wall and form smaller chambers.  There are series of very large and deep pits, very much larger than burial chambers.  All centers assessable by tunnels.  These were not hidden, thus not tombs.  These massive pits are most likely grain storage pits for the years of famine.  Also pits were found in pyramids that were filled with grains.  This was probably a place the world comes to Egypt to buy grain.  By the wall, there were 40 cubicles that were just big enough for a person to stand in to receive their grain and make payments.  All the large pits were connected together by tunnels.  Grains were found at the floors of these pits.  These circumstantial evidence fits Joseph’s story.

6.      WHERE IS IMHOTEP’S TOMB?

a.      Genesis 50:26 mentioned that Joseph was embalmed in a coffin in Egypt.  Exodus 13:19 mentioned that Joseph’s body was taken by Moses to be buried in the land of Canaan when Israelites left the land of Egypt.  There was a tomb at Memphis (Saqqara) where people came to Imhotep to get healed, discovered by a French archeologist in 1850.  Hidden under a huge network of tunnels under this temple, filled with lots of mummified Ibis birds, was a very large burial chamber called Mastaba.  In this chamber, which faced ‘North’ rather than ‘East’ in all other Mastabas was an empty solid granite sarcophagus.  Also found in this tomb, there were broken stone jars with the impression of the pharaoh Djoser.  Which means that this tomb is likely belong to someone close to the pharaoh, like Imhotep the Prime Minister of Egypt.

7.      WHAT HAPPENED TO EGYPT?

a.      Jeremiah 46:19, “Noph (Memphis) will be a waste and desolate place without inhabitants.”  Memphis was a glorious capital of lower Egypt.  Today it’s just rubbish.  Ezekiel 30J:13, “God will destroy the idols of Noph (Memphis).”  Memphis was known as the place of the great temple city of Egypt.  In other areas of Egypt, the idols and temples of that time period still exist, but not Memphis.  Now, as the archeologist noticed that all the discovered things, there are no more idols or images.  Ezek 30:16, Thebes will be broken apart.  Multiple empires destroyed Thebes, few times.  True to prophecy, Thebes still exist, but broken.

b.      Ezek 30:13 Egypt shall have no more princes.  Since 400 BC, the period of silence after the prophet Malachi, none of Egypt’s kings have been Egyptian.  Even King Pheru is Albanian and none of the modern presidents are Egyptian.  Ezek 30:12, “I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hands of strangers: I the LORD has spoken.”  Today, Egypt, the most populated country in the Middle East, is populated mostly by Arabs, not Egyptians.  The Copts are the direct descendents of ancient Egyptians.  Ezek 29:15 “I will diminish Egypt.”  True Egyptians are 1:23 to foreigners.  Prophecies said that Egypt will remain in decline and become a lowly nation.  These prophecies were made around 600BC, when Egypt was still very prosperous.

c.      In the 7th century, Arabs took 14 months and 23,000 lives to capture Alexandria and destroyed the Alexandrian Library (a treasure) and burn the books.  The continuous burning of books in the public bath houses kept the warm waters running for 6 months.  All ancient empires are destroyed, but not Egypt.  It survived, but as a lowly nation.

d.      These pyramids are alters and witness in Egypt.  Pyramids in Saqqara constructed under Imhotep were in a step-like fashion on the inside and dressed on the outside with beautiful limestone to give it a smooth shinny appearance.  The step pyramid of Saqqara constructed by Imhotep.  The Bedouins stripped the beautiful limestone and sold it to build mosques.  And, now it had remained the shape of step pyramids.  These pyramids are actually a witness to God.

e.      Isaiah 19:19.  Pillars to the Lord at the border of the land of Egypt.  King Solomon inscribed pillars at the Red Sea crossing and at the foot of Mt Sinai.  1978, the pillars was found on the Egyptian side.

(*) Presence of God

We are imperfect men/women.
The holy and perfect God created us.
For what purpose?

None other than pure joy of being with us!

Are you still looking?

Friends, God is already in your 'heart'!
He has made us His dwelling place through the Messiah.
All you have to do is to ask Him to show you His Presence.
Once you recognize that, you are already in the Kingdom of God.

Evil intent to destroy our mortal bodies,
But can never take away the Presence of God.

In our bodies, there are many unquenchable sadness and sorrows,
Only in the Presence of God can we have true peace,
despite our traumas.

Go ahead... I dare you to search...

(*) How Sin Destroys Us

IN THE BEGINNING… HOW SIN CAME INTO THE WORLD.  (Satan still use the same strategy on us today!)

1.      God wants to be with us.  GOD WALKING AMONG US IS THE FIRST KEY.

a.      Genesis 3: God strolled in the Garden of Eden and called out to Man, “where are you?”  He was intimately present with Man and Woman, married and united; and God was in face-to-face relationship with them.

b.      Leviticus 26:11-12: I will live among you, I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people.

c.      John 14:23: All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.

2.      Nature of Man = Genesis 2: God formed man from dirt before any grass or shrubs started growing on the ground.  The whole earth was fed by underground springs and a river, not rain.  After that, God planted a garden in Eden toward the East, and put Man in it to work and manage it.  Man also named all the living things.  After that, God started growing trees for man to look at and eat.  God commanded man not to disobey Him and sin.  All the animals eat grass at this point.

3.      Nature of Woman = Genesis 2: God said it is not good for man to be alone.  He created a ‘helper or companion.’  He first formed animals and birds from dirt, but nothing satisfied Man.  So, He put the man to sleep and took his rib and made Woman and presented her to the Man.  Woman was made from Man.

4.      The fall of Man and Woman= Genesis 3: Satan’s victory

a.      First, the set-up: he rephrased God’s commands to the Woman, “Do I understand that God told you not to eat from any tree in the garden?”

b.      Second, the human engagement: the Woman responded exactly as God had told the Man.

c.      Third, the temptation: the serpent directly contradicts God by saying, “You won’t die.  God knows that he moment you eat from that tree, you’ll see what’s really going on.  You’ll be just like God, knowing everything, ranging all the way from good to evil.”

d.      Fourth, the disobedience and introduction of sin: She ate and gave to the husband and he ate.

e.      Fifth, the divorce: they now blame each other and blamed the serpent for their own disobedience and are now out of worship and fellowship with God.  They can no longer have perfect face-to-face communion with God.  Man now has to labor for food and survive in the wilderness in which God created him.  Woman now has to labor with pain in child birth and she will be under her husband’s rule.  Man was punished for listening to his wife and not the LORD.

5.      God still provide for Man and Woman after their sin.  Out of love, God killed (first time animal was killed) animal and made leather clothing for them.  And, He locked them out of the Garden of Eden, so they cannot eat from the Tree of Life and “be like God” and be out of fellowship with God forever.

WHAT DOES SIN MEAN IN TODAY’S WORLD?

1.      WE ARE ALL CAPABLE OF GREAT EVIL.  Aren’t  you disgusted when learning about the Nazis, Saddam Hussein, drug cartels, Pol Pot of Khmer Rough, Manchurian massacre of Chinese by the Japanese, wrongful encampment of Japanese US citizens during WWII in America, Maoists terrorist groups, tribal incest and cannibalism, various religious terrorist groups, religious extremists “homicide bombing”…   What about sex slavery of children and women? What about sick man who imprison young girls to physically and sexually abuse them?  What about terrorists bombing buses full of girls/women pursuing education in Pakistan?  What about people kidnapping and dismembering them so they can mail them back in pieces in Northern Africa?  What about the rampant violence against women in all continents?  What about the killing of millions of unborn children?  Haven’t you been the subject of racial/ethnic or religious persecution?

a.      Well, the truth is that we are all capable of those things!  You said how?!  Well, look at the research.  Students can continue to give painful electric shocking when they were commanded to do so.  In a study experiment, 2 groups of students were studied.  One group was to be prisoners and the other prison guards.  Student prison guards become absolutely brutal and started to torture their student prisoners.

2.      What are Signs and Symptoms of Sin?

a.      Extreme dissatisfaction and boredom.  Nothing is ever good enough.  We complain about everything.  This ‘extreme thirst’ causes us to desperately seek ‘solutions’ to quench it.  We are preoccupied with ‘solving our problems’ that we stopped looking to God for solutions.  We started to think that God is no longer helping us, that is why we are in this terrible situation.   This causes us to question and to not trust God.

b.      We become disillusioned: Character Assassination of God: We start to think, “God doesn’t really have our best intentions in mind.”  Which leads to, “We cannot trust God to come through, so we have to trust ourselves.”  “I have to be in control.”  “I determine my own destiny.”

c.      Disobedience: we start to do things even though we know they contradict God.  That’s what happens when we are left to our own devices.  Even if we have best intentions in mind, our warring sinful nature wins most of the time and we end up struggling a lot with trying to do the right thing until we just completely succumb to just floating with the random ocean waves and committing evil without a righteous fight.

d.      We become devoured by sin.  The evil one is like a beast, seeking, and hunting to devour our soul for dessert.  The devil is very hungry for our souls.  Satan doesn’t want to spend eternity alone in the burning thirst.  He has already been defeated.  He is now focusing on bringing as many people to hell with him as possible.

3.      What is Hell?

a.      Hell is eternity without God.  It is an eternal unquenchable thirst for God.  Just like the Seraphim bite causes extreme fever and unquenchable thirst and result in a ‘burning death,’ hell is an eternal state of ‘burning and unquenchable thirst.’  This thirst is a thirst for God’s presence… yet there is no God to relieve it.  A place full of extreme dissatisfaction, extreme boredom, and extreme disillusionment.

4.      What is Heaven?

a.      Heaven is a place filled with God’s glory.  He is the light of the world.

b.      Heaven is described in the book of Revelation to be a place built by precious gem stones and metals.  Gates of giant pearl.  Streets of gold.

c.      However, think about this…  God is so full of glory and might and love, that even the most precious things on this earth is like dirt in heaven!!!

5.      God’s Remedy

a.      First, God knows that our natures are mostly too strong for us to control.  We cannot make good decisions all the time.  So, His Holy Spirit continues to prompt us to make the right decisions, all the time, regardless if we listen or not.  He never gives up on us.  He is not like us, He never forgets.  He continues to orchestrate our lives, our every step, and all the situations around us to help us overcome.  He utilizes all the suffering from our disobedience to remind us to trust him again and He strengthens us in our needs and to encourage us to repent.

b.      Second, God shows us His provision for healing and restoration.  Just like Moses lifted up the serpent, Christ is lifted up.  When we fix our eye to Christ lifted up and repent, we are saved from eternal death.  Jesus said to the prostitute at the well in John 4:14, if you drink of the water I give you, you will never thirst again.  It becomes a refreshing bubbling spring from within to give eternal life.  He is the living water that ends all thirst.  CHRIST’S REDEMPTION IS THE SECOND KEY.

c.      Third, God awaits on us to fix our eyes on Him again and to repent with our hearts and to make a change in our life.

d.      Fourth, once we repent, He completely restores us.

(*) Unquenchable Thirst

Quench My Thirst

God is perfect
Created a perfect world
Desired us to be with Him
God and us, a whole and perfect world.

Tempted and deceived, Adam sins
Desire to ‘be like God,’ so, out of God’s presence we go
The punishment is not just a God-less existence
But, also a ravaging burning thirst of the seraphim’s bite.

Mind altering thirst, unquenchable
Desire for living water and eternal life
Drives men mad to seek everything to satisfy
But without God, efforts to quench begets more thirst.

Abraham’s faith led him to sacrifice his son
Moses’ faith lift up the bronze snake for healing
Our wonderful God provided a savior
A perfect sacrifice to redeem our thirsty and dying souls.

Abba Father is our God
Holy Spirit is the glory of God
Jesus the Messiah is our redemption
And the living water that refreshes and bubbles up from within.

Once sin makes us focus on ourselves
With blood of the lamb that was slain
Re-focus our eyes back on God
We repent and accept His presence within us.

As God’s heavenly glory fills our beings
We no longer thirst or question His existence
Living water refreshes our souls
Emmanuel is Eden restored.

The Most Beautiful Lake in America

Man!  I can't believe I get to come to Lake Tahoe!  I came here to work, but, I am definitely squeezing as much fun time out of it as possible.

When you start driving up here, you can definitely tell when the city starts to peel off your car wheels and the mountain starts to creep into your nostrils.  The smell of a perfect mixture of mountain dirt mixed with the scent of the giant pine trees is so refreshing.  Besides, how often you feel so dwarfed by giant living creatures?  I often want to feel dwarfed if I can see dinosaurs again.  Yet, driving in these thinly paved roads in the midst of all these living giants, it certainly impress a sense of awe!

Yesterday, I went to the beach on the lake and frolicked for about 1 hour before my pager went off.  I enjoyed the gentle sun, beaming on my head, gentle breeze cooling off my skin, and site of big goose waddling on the beach amongst the little kids... unafraid and friendly.  It was a serene scene of vacationers and the beauty of a vast clear blue pool called Tahoe.

Some one once said, Lake Tahoe has enough water to cover the entire California with 14 inches of water.  It is about 1,600 feet deep and on the clear day, the water is so clear, you can see directly almost 70 feet down without difficulty!  It is so blue and emerald... so calm... no waves... beautiful.

Today, I took off for an hour and went to the Renaissance Fair.  It was so fun and goofy!  People dress up in medieval clothing... some people are even in-character, talking in old-English and asking where people are from... clearly, all the locations he talked about were in medieval England somewhere.  It was so fun!  There were sword fights, lots of drinking, clay pot smashes, archery, vulgar plays, vendors of various medieval art, clothing, incense, food, weapons...

After work around 7:30pm, I drove to the trail head of the Vikingsholm off the stunning Emerald Bay.  I did the 2.2 mile hike down and back up.  I spent 30 min sitting at the lake side.  There were even 3 beavers that were playing in the lake by themselves.  They noticed me and started to swim toward me, but dare not to get too close.  Then I see a big bunch of pine needles and green bulky leaves floating purposefully from the shore off in to the middle of the bay... I was like... that's odd!  Why would a bulk of debride be floating purposefully?  Beaver!

Other than beavers, did see the Vikingsholm Castle.  I spent time enjoying what God had made.  I appreciated and thank God for His beauty that is displayed in creation.

And... oh... there is a really awesome stretch of road off the 89 highway next to Emerald Bay when you literally see huge body of water on both sides of the road!!!!  Emerald Bay on the right, and Cascades Lake on the left.  It almost feel like you are driving on the dinosaur's back while the dinosaur is flying above the lake!  So awesome!  I wanted to take pictures so bad, but there's no where I can stop... no shoulders on the road... cliffs on both sides, you know what I mean?!  Awesome!

What a day?!  God even gave me time to go to church today, uninterrupted, while being on call.  I really like the place and the message was really good.  It gave me a lot to think about.  I'll process that in a little bit... I will process it.  It is so good!

I took a lot of picture, but can't get it off my phone... I'll add it soon.  Next time, I am bring my camera!

House of Horrors in Cleveland, Ohio. My thoughts on Sex Slavery and Trafficking.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/05/07/missing-women-cleveland-brothers-arrested/2140359/

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!  Did you see this piece of news?  On USA Today, today, front page: House of horrors... 3 missing young girls rescued!  They were kidnapped about 10 years ago, when they are 14 (Gina Dejesus), 17 (Amanda Berry), and 20 (Michelle Knight) years old by a school bus driver (Ariel Castro) and his 2 brothers (Onil and Pedro)!

These 3 perverts locked the 3 girls in a house for 10 years.  Sexually/physically/mentally abused them over and over in the last 10 years!  In the article, they mentioned repeated chained rapes, violent physical abuses... they had total of at least 5 pregnancies and some loss of pregnancies because of traumatic abuse during their pregnancy.  Why in hell are these things happening?!  Doesn't it give you just this nauseous feeling and a craving for justice?

Why are we fight about all these less important 'rights' issues in America, when we have such bigger issues to address?  We should turn our energy in fighting these 'justice' issues?  These kind of injustice committed against women and children are SO MUCH BIGGER than what American likes to fight about with what we called 'rights.'  Please, don't ignore this anymore.  Shouldn't we all feel disgusted so we want to learn more and help fight it.  Doesn't this disgust you as it disgusts me?  Should we continue to turn a blind eye until it happens to us?  What would it take for YOU to change how you are behaving toward this issue?

Are you aware that the Pornography industry is one of the largest profitable industries in the world... Drug trafficking is the most profitable.  The second most profitable is Human Trafficking, which is also the 3rd fastest growing criminal industry in the world!  Do you still think Porn is benign if you just do what you do behind closed doors?  The supply is meeting the demand... you have to ask yourselves, where are these demand coming from?  Do you think porn is as consensual as the American TVs made it seemed to be?  Do you think women likes to degrade their bodies to any men willing?  Do you think Sex Trafficking is a 'foreign issue'?  Well, look again, it is in ALL of our neighborhoods... it is probably in your own house!

This disgusting porn industry is feeding into the Sex Slavery industry.  Check out these statistics:

1. 27 million humans are enslaved each year according to the most conservative estimates.  The real number is more like 50 million world wide.  This is more than DOUBLE to QUADRIPLE the number during the height of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
2. 80% of victims are WOMEN AND GIRLS, and over 50% are minors ==> Sex slaves
3. UNICEF estimates about 1.2 million children are trafficked every year around the world, that is about 2 CHILDREN PER MINUTE ARE TRAFFICK FOR SEXUAL EXPLOITATION
4. A lot of these exploits are for 'sexual tourism.'  What do you think that means?  That means, overwhelming majority are men traveling around the world just to RAPE another innocent CHILD!
5. About 800,000 persons are trafficked across international borders each year, that means the rest of 97%, or 26 + million people are trafficked within the country... they are domestic slaves!  More than 50% of these are sexual slaves!
6. The SuperBowl is the event that earns most money for sex traffickers in the world.  Look at any major sporting event around the world... it's the same thing...

Ahhhh, THIS MAKES ME ABSOLUTELY SICK TO MY STOMACH!

TAKE NOTE: THIS IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW.  IN THE UNITED STATES, A GIRL THAT IS LEFT TO HERSELF IN ANY MAJOR U.S. CITY WILL BE APPROACHED BY A HUMAN TRAFFICKER WITHIN 72 HOURS!!!  Think Again!

*** YOU CANNOT DO NOTHING!  DOING NOTHING MEANS YOU ARE OK WITH THESE KIND OF TERRORISM AND ATROCIOUS VIOLENCE.  DO NOT TURN A BLIND FACE TO THESE SUFFERING WOMEN AND CHILDREN!!! ***

You can do something about this:
1. READ, READ, READ!
2. STOP USING PORN, STOP SUPPORTING THIS INDUSTRY.
3. Learn to protect yourself
4. Watch movies about this issue
5. You can check out these following links.  Be educated about how to properly approach this issue.

(*) The Heavenly Man - Brother Yun...

I am
Reading fast
My heart is anguished
My eyes are filled with tears
My throat choke out my laughters
In amazement for the undying Spirit
In love and obedience to Almighty God
For those who are beaten and killed to love another
Modeled by our beloved Jesus
Is the only source for
Faith
Hope
Love
.....
Amazed and ashamed
of my request for God's mercy and help
when in comparison
my life is a walk in the park
as compared to my brothers and sister
who are suffering such unimaginable terror
under the hands of those who they are hoping to reach
with the love of Jesus
They were beaten and killed
They suffered greatly
Perseverance
Push past the limit
Miracles

The absolutely crazy Hybrid Car Hype. Count your cost. It is a hole in your wallet and your logic!

I got to test drive a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid... Man, I got so many looks and good comments!  From its Maserati inspired grill, to smooth body curves, to a metallic black color, to a quiet eco-friendly philosophy and yet a muscular sporty look... I would have to say, this is a very sexy car.  I love the absolute quietness of the electric engine while I sneak up on unsuspected pedestrian, to watching me 'grow green leaves' on my driving efficiency feedback, to a CVT transmission that allow me to accelerate without feeling gear changes, to its responsive acceleration for a hybrid... it really zips, and I really had fun driving this car!  While good driving is rewarded by 'growing green leaves' on the monitor, bad driving makes the leaves fall off... I have tried both --> to grow as many leafs as possible by driving 60 mph on the freeway until the vines are full of green, to punching the accelerator until all the leaves fall off.... I still averaged 39.8 mpg!!!!

But, as much as I love driving this car and getting attention... is it worth the money?!   The answer is NO!  Here are the calculations... do it for yourself and see...

2013 FORD FUSION HYBRID
The minimal car MSRP price is $30,000, with a gas tank size of 13.5 gallons, and a 39 MPG efficiency, it give s a whopping 526.5 miles for a full tank.  At $4 per gallon of gas, it takes $54 to fill up a tank.  According to statistics, an average American drives about 1100 miles per month, with the average life span of a car being around 8 years and 150,000 miles.  So that means, you will spend about average of $1,353.85 per year on gas money and about $15,384.62 in its life span.

2013 TOYOTA COROLLA
This is one of the most popular selling car, an Toyota stable.  The minimal MSRP is $17,000, with a gas tank size of 13.2 gallons, and a 30 MPG combined efficiency.  That gives 396 miles for a full tank of gas.  At $4 per gallon, that is around $52.8 per tank to fill up.  With the above given statistics, the average total yearly cost for gas would be $1,760, and around $20,000 on gas over its average life span.

So, pretty close aye?  Now, here is where the 'robber-meets-the-road:'
1. The difference in MSRP = $13,000
2. The difference in gas cost per year = $406.15
3. The difference in gas cost for the life span of car = $4,615.38
4. That means to buy a hybrid is to spend $13,000 more to save $406 per year on gas.
5. With these differences... how many years do you think you will have to drive a hybrid to make the difference of the MSRP worth money you save each year on gas by driving a hybrid????  =====>  32 years

Now, tell me, is it financially worth it to buy a hybrid?!!!

Now, talk about how environmentally better is a hybrid... which has both gas engine parts and electric engine with lithium batteries?  Isn't that double the waste?

I think this is a no-brainer!  Hybrids are another form of economic waste based on fancy/sexy/strategic/celebrity/green/earth-saving marketing.  You know what is another economic waste based on fancy marketing?  Pharmaceuticals!  We have a lot more to talk about if you wanna chat about that...
